Financing a quad or ATV: what are the options?
Financing a quad or ATV? We explain classic financing, deposits and final payments and show which type of financing suits which requirements.

Financing a quad or ATV: what are the options?
A quad or ATV doesn't always have to be paid for in full in one go. With financing, the purchase price can be spread over monthly instalments.
Which financing makes sense depends mainly on the purchase price, the monthly instalment you want, a possible down payment and the term you want.
Standard financing
With standard financing, the amount to be financed is paid back in monthly instalments over a fixed term.
You can make a down payment, but depending on the financing it isn't strictly necessary. The higher the down payment, the lower the amount that then has to be financed.
Standard financing is particularly suitable for buyers who:
- want a fixed monthly instalment
- don't want a large final payment at the end
- want to finance the purchase price in full over the term
- prefer a longer term to reduce the monthly outlay
At Bader Powersports, standard financing is available with various terms, depending on the financing and your creditworthiness.
Financing with a final payment
Another option is financing with a final payment, often also called balloon financing.
Here, part of the purchase price is not paid off through the monthly instalments but remains as a larger payment at the end of the term.
This can make the monthly instalment lower than with standard financing over a comparable term.
This option is particularly suitable for buyers for whom a lower monthly outlay matters and who can already plan how the final payment will be made later.
Financing with or without a down payment?
In principle, a down payment can have a significant effect on the financing.
If, for example, you pay part of the vehicle price up front, you then have a smaller amount to finance. That can reduce either the monthly instalment or the term needed.
Which option makes more sense depends on your personal financial situation.
Can I use my old vehicle as a down payment?
A part exchange can also be combined with the purchase of a new or used quad or ATV.
The agreed value of your current vehicle can then be factored into the overall calculation and reduce the amount still to be financed.
It doesn't necessarily have to be a quad or ATV again. Whether a part exchange is possible, and at what value, is assessed individually.
What documents are needed for financing?
A financing application generally requires personal and financial details.
At Bader Powersports, for the assessment we need, among other things:
- a completed self-disclosure form (Selbstauskunft)
- a copy of your ID
- a recent proof of income
Depending on the financing, further documents may be required.
How high should the monthly instalment be?
You shouldn't simply choose the lowest possible monthly instalment. A longer term or a large final payment can reduce the monthly outlay, but it changes the overall calculation of the financing.
So it makes sense to first decide which monthly instalment fits your budget in the long run. The down payment, term and, if applicable, final payment can then be calculated accordingly.
Can I also finance a used quad or ATV?
In principle, it isn't only new vehicles that can be financed. Financing can also be possible for used vehicles.
Whether financing is possible, and on what terms, depends on the specific vehicle and the respective financing assessment.
How do I get a specific financing offer?
For a specific offer we need the vehicle you want and a few details about the financing you're looking for.
It particularly helps to know:
- the down payment you want
- the monthly instalment you want
- the term you want
- standard financing or financing with a final payment
We can then calculate an individual financing plan.
Conclusion
Financing can be structured in different ways. If you want to pay as evenly as possible over the whole term, you can choose standard financing. If you want to reduce the monthly instalment, you can look into financing with a final payment.
The down payment, term and final payment have a direct effect on the monthly outlay. That's why the financing should always be calculated to suit the vehicle and your own budget.
At Bader Powersports we can work out different options directly for the quad or ATV you want and compare them side by side.
